Hi all

I have a stereo pair of play3s in the kitchen - very pleased with them (run a boost too).

If i were to add a play5 and use the 3.5mm line in from the 3.5mm line out of the kitchen television, would they all work together from that source? Could equally be youtube on the ipad etc.

Thanks in advance

I don't think you can do that with them.

You can group them together for network/internet sources, but I doubt you can do it for the line in source.

You can definitely do this. That's one of the big selling points of the play 5. The line in will show up as an audio source in the Sonos software and you can play it in a group (i.e. your 2 x play 3s and play 5).

You can even play what is being input into the play 5 out of a different speaker (i.e. just the play 3's) without it coming out of the play 5.

I personally have a Sonos connect and the inputs on this work in the same way.

I play all my TV audio through my Play:5 and you can definately stream it to all the other players. It's good if I'm watching something and nip out to the kitchen to check on dinner :)

Thankyou all for taking the time to reply.

Unfortunately I ordered it from an online site and paid the full uk price. I needed to pick the delivery slot for after work. I have changed the day to Wednesday though so am looking forward to a bit of tinkering!

Just to close this off, Play5 all set up, working with the stereo Play3s streamed and line in. Wonderfull. Must resist the sub.

Very pleased.

Thanks again all.
