Has anyone got any experience with sonos sound bar?.
I'm interested in getting it as I have a sonos 5 and was looking to get a couple more speakers.
At nearly £700 is it worth it though when there is much cheaper bars on the market?

Also, any sound bars that might be able to integrate my current sonos 5?.
Not too technically minded when it comes to surround sound etc

I own the Sonos Playbar and I have to say the sound is very very good. I realise that you can get more detailed sound with dedicated speakers and amps, but when you consider the real estate the Playbar takes, it is good value for money. I also have it paired with 2 Play 1s for surround sound. I have the Play 1s on flexson wall brackets, which allow me to remove them easily and take a speaker or two outside when I have guests round.

This along with the Sonos app's easy of use and wireless features, make it an excellent product.

Note that you will need a TV that can pass-through 5.1 via optical to get the best sound possible. Newer sets should be fine.

I am not sure that you can use 2 Play 5s for surround; I've definitely heard about using 2 Play 1s or 3s.

At £700 you can buy a good stereo system which'll outclass a soundbar. Also means you can add speakers upgrade to .1, 5.1, 7.1 something a soundbar cannot do.

If you have Sonos already then I'd get a Sonos Connect or Sonos: Amp then add speakers (and/or amp)

It doesn't support DTS which is an issue for a lot of people that want to watch DVD's and Blu Rays
I've got a Samsung blu ray player which downsamples DTS....not entirely ideal I guess but it works and the system is wife-friendly (it never goes wrong, there's no extra remote, no wires, etc etc).

But I also bought my kit before the price rises - I was going to get another Playbar but not for £700. It should be under £400 now I reckon. And it should be possible to use 2-3 of the Play 5s or Play 3s instead of the Playbar.

Especially I watched LOTR last night and for the first time the Playbar / sub / Play 1s didn't totally cut it....

Got a Q Acoustics sound system, it bolts onto the vesa bracket, has a flat sub behind the TV, and two speakers or rails. Actually it's good sound for the price, the drivers are unusual driver type (I forget what) So a lot of spread of sound, and wide range from just the four drivers, and the sub is pretty good too. It's not boomy like the usual ported subs. I think it's sealed box. Dead simple to use, optical in, and three buttoned remote. Think about £150.

Of course not as good as a stereo, but it isn't bad and I happily live with it for TV shows like GOT. For movies I'd want something better
