sons budget build spec check

currently my son has
q9950/4gb/6450 in a shuttle sx38p2 and was thinking of getting a new pc together for his birthday, need to keep as cheap as possible. minecraft, garys mod etc


how does this sound, can I improve without breaking the bank.

One thing I'd say is that at this price range every extra £10 is going to go a long way. How far can you stretch to?

However, if he's literally just playing minecraft and gmod then that will probably work fine... Though R7 265s are quite cheap right now, and much more powerful than the GTX 750.
 
how averse are you to getting 2nd hand items, £300 can go a very very long way if you wanna go 2nd hand, especially as you have access to the MM

Have a look for some used 7870 cards or so. They would destroy the gtx 750
 
I sold a hd 7850 which was an overclocking beast the other day for a stupid price, keep your eye out for them.
