Anybody currently using one of these that could give me genuine feedback? even better if you've moved to one from a DSLR?

Finally made the decision to sell off my Canon gear and go smaller, my DSLR doesn't seem to come out as often as it should and when it does I'm always cursing the size/storage/weight etc. I was settled on a Lx100 but I think I'd prefer the option of interchangeable lenses, anybody made this move or could suggest a similar camera?

Cheers

I've looked at few m4/3 and they all seem to be on par with each other and nothing that jumps out at me.

From what I've read a new Sony is due imminently whether its a replacement for the a6000 its not yet clear, talk of a a6100 and/or a7000 I may wait to see what comes out and how it affects the a6000 prices, 4k video and weather sealing are the suspected upgrade rumours.

Lens wise I'd probably be after a nice general purpose/walkabout lens, a wide angle and a 35ish mm prime all I believe are reasonably priced in the Sony range.

I got a a6000 last week. Only got the kit lens so far but find the camera very capable. Will pick up the 35mm 1.8 and 55-10 at some point.

Picked it up from John lewis for £510 so would be 460 with the £50 quid Sony redemption offer.

When does the cashback expire?

Thanks for that Steve I shall use tonight's night shift to browse your Flickr!

We go on holidays the end of September so I've set this as the cut off for a purchase which gives me a couple of months to watch prices.

What lenses do you use?

Thanks all for your feedback the cashback looks like a nice bonus at the moment and not wanting to rush right in just yet, I've done a quick shopping list as follows

A6000 body only (£50 cashback)
Sony 35mm f1.8
Sony 16mm f2.8 (£30 cashback)
Sony 50-210mm (£50 cashback)

I think that is a pretty good start and should cover what I need, I would have liked something a bit wider but the ultra wide converter fits the 16mm and would probably make do until I could afford the 10-18mm.

In terms of "old glass" where should I be looking, do they all need a converter or will some fit the E-mount?

Legacy glass - basically you can get a converter for just about anything. If you fancy getting something cheap to play around with

I shall take a look into this option.

Finally managed to get hands on one in Currys today, very surprised how comfortable it felt in my big hands, the ergonomics on the grip are spot on, also managed to have a play with a few others Panasonic/Olympus/Fuji none felt comfortable at all the closest to the Sony was the Canon M3

Took the plunge and have A6000 and the 35mm f1.8 on the way to me:D

2 Questions for A6000 users?

What bags are you using I'm looking for something small and discreet?

Flash I wouldn't mind having the option of a larger flash, am I tied to Sony or would the likes of Yongnuo fit?

Congrats! Excellent choice.

I've got various bags, the one I use for just the camera and an attached lens when travelling is the Lowepro Apex 110 AW as its got a simple but effective rain cover.

I'm currently looking into other bags too, very nearly pulling the trigger on the Manfrotto MB MP-BP-20BB.

Flash I don't know much about I'm afraid.

I'll have a google this evening, seems to be much more choice for larger cameras.

Bag I'm considering is the Lowepro Passport Sling III
Seems to fit my Note Pro 12.2 and A6000+1650+55-210 very easily.

Taken a look at all the suggestions and ended up going for a Lowepro Nova Sport 7L seems to tick all the boxes.

Hopefully my A6000 and 35mm will arrive in the next 48hrs.
