Trying to weigh up my option with the above two. From looking it seems the A7R has the advantage in megapixels, but the regular A7 has the advantage in speed and autofocus. Considering I'm mostly a landscape photographer they would both probably be lost on me. Are there any other reasons to choose the regular A7 over the A7R?

Price difference in both in negligible and have the option of a couple of lenses from a friend and a steal so thought why not.

No low pass on the R. Definitely the better camera for landscape. The A7 better at almost everything else though.

I'm wanting to change my A7R for something with better auto focus is the main let down.

I bought and A7 a few years ago and I'm really pleased with it. I only take photos, never video so for me it's perfect. If you can push the budget to slightly more than the A7, could you go as far as the A7r2? More megapixels and IBIS to name a few advantages.
