Sony a77 repairing?

Hi all,

I've damaged the front control dial rubber bit which has fallen off. I have insurance with Jessops but seems a waste sending the whole camera to their repair shop in the post! Can I buy a new rubber grip?

Simple answer is no. Just bite the bullet and get it sorted before your cover runs out.

Hi, can anyone help with posting this? i have never sent a letter in my life and have no idea how to do it! Where do i get a box from and those plastic bubbly popping wrap?

The post office or any good stationary shop will stock the things you need. The post office boxes are good and strong.

No the guy I phoned said I have to post it to their repair centers

Get bubble wrap from any stationery shop / post office
Get a sturdy box
Wrap the camera around in the bubble wrap, be generous so that it is padded well for any shocks
In the box, put some padding as a cushion, even newspaper will do
Put wrapped camera in
put any paperwork you need on top
seal box
write address
put your "from" address on there
Send Special Delivery by 1pm or use parcel2go or equivalent

basically what I done when I sent my 5dmkiii to Canon for a focus screen fix

Make sure you send it tracked with the appropriate insurance cover in case it goes missing.
