Have you tried using a reverb plug in, that may give you what you need?
Put the track in the project, and then press the plugin button on the track (its a green square with 2 small circles either side of it). By default you'll probably see Track EQ. Press the plugin button on this dialog (again the same icon) and choose Sony Reverb from the list of available plugins. Press the Add button then press OK. After this you'll be taken back to the Audio Plugin page, where you can modify reverb parameters.
EDIT: There are also echo plugins such as Simple Delay and Multi-Tap delay if you need echo rather than reverb.
