Not a bad deal !

Sony has announced something very cool for gamers that still play the several MMO games that Sony Online Entertainment offers. A new subscription called the all access subscription has launched that will get you access to every online MMO game SOE has for $14.99 monthly.

In fact, if you already have a subscription for EverQuest II or any other video game, you will be upgraded to the all access subscription automatically. If you buy a subscription in 3, 6, or 12-month increments you can get an even lower price.

The games that you can get access to with that one subscription include current titles like EverQuest, EverQuest II, DC Universe Online PC, PlanetSide 2 PC, and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Vanguard will be terminated sometime this year so don't get hooked on that one. You will also get access to future games with that subscription as well like EverQuest Next, Landmark, and H1Z1. Along with the games, you get 500 Station Cash monthly for game marketplaces, a 10% discount on marketplace purchases, and other promotions during the year.

I'm trying to figure out which part of this is good value. Access to lots of old games and some new ones which may, or may not be any good but on a subscription service, the type of which is dying.

I'm not saying it won't suit anyone but I'm struggling to see who'd be jumping for joy at the thought of 10% off inflated prices and access to half a dozen games, many of which are old for $15/month.

Will be of more interest when/if the next Everquest and H1Z1 come out, if they're any good. I am subscribed for Planetside 2 anyway but don't really have any interest in the other games at the moment.

Whilst it seems good my concern is that subscription games still seem to have an associated cashshop along with them. Now when I pay a subscription I expect to get everything - surely that is the point of the sub - not to get a few extra perks but not the complete package. I see they give you some of their currency every month but I do wonder whether that will be enough for the average player to be totally able to play their game of choice to the fullest extent and dip into a few other titles without a great deal of impediment.

PS2 is pretty good and there are subscriber benefits. The others have some old school playability. Of course, H1Z1 is just around the corner...

Problem is people only have time for one mmo at a time perhaps?

Exactly, it sounds like a decent idea. But lately I've been spending so much time in warcraft that I just dont have time for anything else haha. Which is pretty sad! As I've got loads and loads of games to play.

Join the US servers. Especially PS2, the european ones had their own currency, poorer giveaways and promotions. Always join the US SOE servers. The ping difference (at least for me) was minimal even in a fast game like PS2.
