This site offers to replace any out of warranty Sony consoles practically free of charge (although there is a £2.50 a month fee). This obviously sounds too good to be true so I have done a bit of googling, but can't find any positive or negative comments about it. I can't even really tell if they're actually part of/related to Sony.

Does anyone here have any experience with them?

I signed up on Saturday and unexpectedly received a letter today from them today. It turns out it's a company called Domestic & General.

They seem quite professional and friendly, although on the top right there is one of those company Award logos - which programs like Watch Dog have made me suspicious about :/

If you have any experience with them or Domestic & General then please post. I don't want to run into a scam...
I will be ringing them soon because my PSP's WLAN has buggered up.

Well Sony aren't an insurance company, which is essentially what you're dealing with. The website looks legit. What has searching for Domestic and General yielded?

weve had them for years weve had our fridge freezer/washer/hover/cooker all fixed by them. :D

Yeah, that's obvious from their website. Makes sense for Sony to use an insurance company rather than deal with it internally.

I done some contracting for them a few yrs ago at their Wimbledon office.. Legit company, grossing a billion if i remember and that's from solely insuring domestic devices.

You're in good hands.
Worry not.

I'm interested, but it seems quite pricey really?

£4.99 is the monthly cost for a PS3®

It's not so bad in the long term for what they're offering. A two day turnaround isn't bad at all if they can deliver that kind of service.

I'd have been chuffed if Microsoft had managed 2 days instead of the 4 weeks it took to replace my RRoD Xbox.

I suppose one way to look at it is, it is marginally more expensive that the rrp of Live, but you get the benefit of an extended warranty?

Sony can't sell insurance, it would be against the law, as they don't have a license to sell it. :)

ok...say like..My Psp is already dead, can i still a replacement from Sony Continuous Play?

couldnt you just use the sale of goods act on the retailor you purchased your ps3 from?

i would expect a machine that cost £425 at launch to last over a year.
