my old man is looking to upgrade his fuji digital camera to this sony one now he is worried that its going to be to much for him and its not going to produce the pics that its capable of, is it easy to use for a beginner, he believes that if its a good camera he is going to use it more where as with his fuji camera he just uses it for holidays and the odd use

I have the DSC-H1 which shares a lot of features with the H5 and having never been into photography found it really easy to get to grips with. IMO the H1 is a fantastic piece of kit, and the H5 is meant to be even better in some respects. One comment which always arises from new users of the H series is how easy and above all fun they are to use.

Additionally, should he run into any problems he can check out the sony talk forums at www.dpreview.com for more advice, there is also a fantastic guide which was written for the H1 (but applies equally to the H5) and is in the process of being updated at http://www.aakatz.com/h1whitepaper/.

I hope this helps.
