Because I have 
bit of an impulse buy really but been after another digicam for a year or so after my last Fuji died.
As much as I wanted an all singing and dancing one I decided that unless it as something small that I can carry about with me it would be a pointless purchase as I would never have it on me when I needed it.
Read some good reviews and the super dinky size is perfect for your pocket so I impulsed bought a Dixons when I got one in my hand, probably paid over the odds but who cares
(got a 1 gig Duo as well)
Being dark I havent had much time to play with it but he macro function is unreal with crystal clear images at 1cm!!!
Dead impressed so far as it exceeds what I was after.
