Sony Ericsson Android XPERIA

true but sony's lost the plot with pricing again - just look at the xperia x1 and x2 (good hardware mind) being over priced compared with their competition. They keep being told of poor sales yet they put too higher premium on their sony branding

I disagree, that is around the standard smartphone price. What I find odd is the price of the Desire which is much lower than comparable phones.

As a couple of examples:

HD2 - £430 now (£450 when released)
HD - £450 when released
iPhone 3gs 16GB - £450
iPhone 3gs 32GB - £550
SE X1 - £500
Hero - £400

It's almost as if Android phones are starting to aim at the budget end of the market, which is a little worrying IMO as we could end up with a load of poorly built phones and Android getting a reputation like WinMo...

Don't think so, I keep looking as well.

Just know I'll end up whichever is available first between this and the Desire on a whim at work! Want to have a hold of both on a shop first to see what the size is like, plus my X1 is on its last legs now.

I'm getting dates of 30th from places that are selling it sim free.

I'm not sure about if the network carriers have them instock yet.

Another good review.

In terms of hardware, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is nothing short of a marvellous device. It´s as easy to notice as taking a look at its specifications and the impression is confirmed when you get it in your hand. The build quality is very good, the screen is huge and features wonderful sensitivity, you get virtually all extra features you might need, including 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS (even navigational software). The 8-megapixe camera is great for taking pictures outdoors and happens to be the best you can find on Android-based handsets today. The video capture capabilities of the device are more than satisfactory as well, even if it does not deliver HD video capture. The in-call and audio playback quality are extremely pleasing as well.

8/10

:D

Called Voda, pre-release is only for new customers :(

I have to wait for the phone to be released before they will upgrade!
