Hi all, just acquired a brand spanking new W810i to replace my sadly RIP'd K750i, built it up in a custom housing so it looks awesome. This only cost me £40 so i'm looking to spec it up slightly. I'm getting a dual sim adaptor from hong kong, and i want to swap out my 4gb sandisk memory stick pro duo ultra for something larger. I was thinking 8gb... but i see there are 16gb sticks.. I'd use it eventually.. bit of a music hound (and omfg is the mp3 player good on w810is).. hurm on looking they do 32gb cards too but even i think that would be a bit excessive - could use it for portable data storage :D if it wasn't £145..

They told me the maximum memory my k750i would take was 2gb.. i fitted a 4gb & it worked fine.. what's the actual max memory of the W810i? anyone tried a 8 or 16gb card in one? cheers folks

EDIT: i seem to remember the memory remaining display in phone status never read right on the 4gb card in my k750i.. saw it as some ridiculous size but i had no problem using the whole card for my mp3s... significant?

The specs at GSMArena say it'll take up to 4GB. Looking around a bit more suggests that it'll lag with even 1GB, so even if it could take, say, 8GB, it might not be terribly usable.

W810 is very similar to the K750 under the skin. I had a 4GB card in mine as it was the biggest around at the time.

I've got an 8GB card in my w810i and I can confirm it works, aside from the memory size being incorrectly reported. The other main problem is that it is a bit slow to access; for instance, it takes a long time to start up with the card in it: it's OK if you're patient (in an emergency you could always pull the card out quickly.)

I'd like to see whether a 16GB (or even 32GB) card would work, and whether a certified Mark 2 card would improve the performance.
