Sony HDTV 32" and X700pro

my mates having trouble with his PC + HDTV, hes getting loads of funny lines across it and real crap quality, he's using a QED DVi -> HDMI lead. were not sure how to get it working properly help plz!! hes going mad lol
The tv is exactly "sony bravia kdl-s32a12u"

edit opppsss woould help if I read the thread title lol

check avforums if he hasnt already as some hdmi sockets dont like having pc's attached (dont ask me why)

I have the same TV and using the pc through vga gives stunning image quality on my set, although I prefer to us the PC on my 21" NEC LCD2170NX.
