Sony HIFI Problem

Hi,

I have a Sony DHC-MD373 (cd player/md player/radio in one) which I have been using for a while to pipe the sound from my computer through.

However, recently it has started bringing in the 'protect' feature at really low volumes (e.g. 6 out of 30), which is absurd, as this clearly isn't going to blow the speakers etc.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be, or how it could be resolved?

Wire loose? Got some wries shorting?

Or mabey there is soo much dust in the thing its tripping out!

Clean it, or could be a dry joint.

Sounds like you have a short on one of the output terminals.

Have you had a party recently? Melted voice coils can do that too
