Sony HT-CT770

Getting the HT-9 just some old mission speakers to sell frist though and its bye bye seperate hi-fi AV equipment.

Are you searching for something that looks good or that sounds good? To me it seems that the Sony has the first licked but reviews suggest the sonics aren't up to par.

Both , i did have the Sony HT-XT1 and really liked the looks and sound+my TV sits on top which is a bonus :D and i do think Sony have put more effort into their products

Did look at the Bose® Solo 15 TV sound system but was not sure

Well if you thought the XT1 was good then you're probably going to be happy with the CT770 then. Its sound is in the same mould; lots of bass, lots of treble, not a great deal going on in between. Bose has been doing the same for years and it hasn't hurt their sales.

I think Sony have realised that it's a harsh competitive market out there, so they've having to put more effort in because the Sony name alone doesn't carry the cache it once had. Sony had a good name when they were an innovative company backed up by good engineering. Those days seem long gone for them in the consumer world. For the last couple of decades they seem to have been a marketing company rather than a technology manufacturer.

Have you actually listened to either of these soundbar products?

If the shape, style and features of the Bose are acceptable then you really ought to have a listen to the Canton DM50. It will show the Bose and the Sony a clean pair of heels in sound quality.
