Sony KDL-50W805C 50-Inch 3D Smart 1080p Full HD TV (2015 Model)

Hi Folks

My TV went up in smoke and I am now looking at replacements.

The TV will mostly be used for gaming and streaming media. I play games at 1080p and 60 FPS (Both PC and PS4).

I have been trying to research myself but am having trouble seeing through the sales talk as I am not that tech savvy.

From what I have been reading Sony seem to do good TV's for gaming so I have been trying to find one. This lead me to the following TV on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00UPCJ1S0.

I just need someone with special eyeballs to read between the lines for me and let me know if there is anything bad about this model (i.e. the panel or the viewing angles).

If you are aware of a better TV feel free to share!

I had a look at it but apparently its discontinued by the manufacturer and you can no longer get spare parts. I started looking at 2015 models after reading that.

Still one of the best TVs you will get for the price. I have last years model the 55w905a and it's epic !

£659 is a rather good price for that one (cheaper than the non-3D model at the moment) so if that's the one you want, go for it. Could be worth a call to JL in the morning to see if they'll price match Amazon.

I have tried to Google this but there doesn't seem to be a decent answer anywhere.

Is X Reality Pro a marketing gimmick or is it worth it to pickup the newer model that has this feature?

Knowing Sony tellies (Used to sell 'em) marketing. Only way to know for certain for yourself is to look at old and new models side by side (Never going to happen in telly shops)

I decided to go with Hutchy's recommendation. I managed to avoid the allure of X Reality Pro and save myself £100.

My first time shopping with John Lewis so I hope all goes well.
