Sony Launches FavoriteSpace App with Man City First

Sony is launching a FavoriteSpace app for sports fans, with the first club being Man City. It's launching now with the free functionality and will include paid content in October. Here's the press release:

Sounds like a 101 in Marketing BS. There are already various online forums for fans to congregate on. There's no need to for a paid for app

It looks to me like it is essentially a virtual reality experience, and computer graphics based. It says you can "view highlights of past home games in 3DCG from any viewpoint", I wonder how good that will be. It's not really the same as video highlights, but an interesting feature.

Be another way for City to some how say they got extra 60m in during the year by a sponsor or some crap like that
