I had the same problem come up on my Sony V3000, looks like a manufacturing fault. luckily i bought mine via JL and they have offered me a replacement.

They have actually offered me the Sharp Quattron LC40LE811E, or if i want another TV i can have £599 off another TV (the Sharp is retailing @ £599)

i have a look at their site and the following TV's look interesting...

Samsung UE40C5800Q
Samsung UE37D5520
Samsung LE37D580
Sony KDL37EX503U

i've had a quick look at the main differences on the comparision features but not sure what would be useful. like the idea of DNLA, but dont know if this is something that is mature enough to warrant at this stage?

what are peoples thoughts? it will be connected to my Onkyo 605 and Jamo 5.1. the onkyo is connected to my computer so i can get the internet/files and folders, but its a bit difficult.

I have the 40" version of the Sony. Actually, mine is the 403 rather than 503, but there's not much real difference. It's a superb TV, lots of features and settings, fantastic picture quality, and some rather nice things like Freeview HD, built-in support for iPlayer, DemandFive, YouTube etc. I don't know what the Samsungs are like, but the Sony TVs at this range do come very well equipped.
