Sony NW-E015F as Drag n Drop?

Hi,

Does anybody have a Sony NW-E015F?

After considering an mp3 player I've decided against a big capacity device such as an iPod as I think I'd spend more time searching for the songs I want (And flicking about) than I would actually using it! So have been looking for 1 gb - 2 gb capacity device that I'll just connect every so often and put a few new albums on. The Sony seemed perfect with a 3 min quick charge yielding a 3 hour charge. Had a look at their range and whilst the SXXX range are impressive they are a little more expensive and I prefer the styling of the E01X range.

The only problem I see with them at the minute - It has a USB built in which I gathered would be real useful at grabbing friends music on the go but I forgot about the evil Sonic Stage software (Which I have despised since the old NET-MD years). I've been reading around for alternatives to the software and whilst some exist for other models (That allow the device to simply drag and drop files) it is never made clear if they will also work for this model - Slightly dubious as many of these files are from late 2006 and the E01X range only came out a few months ago. If the player can be used drag and drop then I am certainly buying it but without knowing that I can't make a decision.

I look forward to hopefully hearing from somebody that may have used one of these devices and used any software (Such as voidMP3FM).

I'm sorry if I've not made myself clear.

By "searching for songs" I can imagine if I have my whole collection with me I'll constantly be putting a song on pressing play, finding another, etc and never get round to simply listening to my music - I don't need nor want a large capacity device as it stands... That's not something against the iPod. The iPod is simply something that does not meet my requirements. Infact, as it goes - iTunes is much more preferrable than SonicStage (For what it's worth) but simply the iPod goes beyond the call and others players do what I want better.

I have had a look at the mp3 players available and unless any are direct rivals to the Sony NW-E015F et co then I don't think they'll interest me much - The device is small, light, quick to charge and has (If it can be used to drag and drop - A limitation which can only be worked around with third party software; Something which I don't know whether or not is available for this model of player and the reason for this thread) - The USB header on board meaning grabbing the odd song from a friend is very easy.

I'd love to hear if anybody has used this player with a drag and drop third party application like voidmp3fm. The device is seen by Windows as a UMS but mp3's simply copied over do not work - These have to be added using SonicStage (Which manually organises the more complex file structure) but software such as voidmp3fm is simply a .exe (Copied and accessed using the device as a UMS) which allows mp3's to be copied to and from the device.
