A nearby neighbour has been digging through his attic during the lockdown and has found a Sony PHV-A7E “Photo Video Camera” which appears to generate a video output from slides or 35mm negatives.

The manual mentions “connecting to a PC” but helpfully provides no further details on how to do this.

Has anyone ever used one of these and, if so, what cables and SW will I need to capture the output of this device as JPEGs on a Windows 10 PC?

Thanks for the info.

I have a very old TV with phono/composite video inputs up in the attic and will search my Big Box Of Obsolete Cables for some phono leads so I can at least check it still works before spending any money on capture devices.

Thanks again.

Thanks.

Having tried 3 different TVs via Scart, phono and S-Video cables, I’ve been unable to get anything but a very broken picture out of it.

After having had a good look at the box it came to me in, I suspect it’s got damp and been dropped at least once in the past.

Have suggested that my neighbour invest in a modern scanner with USB connectivity that saves scans directly to JPEGs on a PC.
