Sony Ships One Million PS3s

That's 1 million units left the factory, not 1 million people bought one. Big difference. It just means they are making them quicker than they did before, not necessarily selling quicker.

oh I do apologize, that's 1 mil in the US ALONE... ok so the only other territory they've released is Japan. BUT the Japs are PS3 crazy, so it has nothing to worry about there.

Time to take Europe by storm now .... :p

I thought the Wii beat that record

So did I. I read that since November up until xmas the Wii has outsold the PS3 in Japan and the US, and the 360 had outsold the both of them in the US.

I will give them a chance for 3-3.5 million by March but nowhere near their 6 million target for then.

Place your bets...

I'll happily place my bets. So far they've met their targets and lets not forget that the ps3 was not an easy bit of kit to get your hands on..

Sony are on the money, I take what you say with a very very light pinch of 360 salt.

Why don't we place our bets on whether the PS3 will sell only 9million worldwide after two Christmas's, with one of them being readily available.

Sorry but this is a little payback to all the anti-sony sentiments on these forums, which quite frankly i've found a little annoying. I have both consoles, so i feel it fair to say what I like about both without prejudice.

oohhh wow, MS SOLD 2 million 360's from the start of Nov to christmas, in the Us alone, kinda ****** on Sony's bonfire for a year old console eh?

What they are saying is that they have beaten there own record and have shipped the ps3 faster than the ps2, they are not claiming to have the fastest selling console, or ever claiming that its faster selling than the ps2 just faster shipping. Ouch.

What they are really saying is that they can throw the ps3 out the back door faster than the ps2

Sony have sold around 750,000 ps3's in the US up until xmas day, and theyve shipped a million there, so where are the other 250,000?

So they are tooting their own trumpet over... well... nothing really?

Fanboys <3.
I own a 360 and a Wii and will get a launch PS3 if it's sub £330.

further validates the strength of the PlayStation brand and our belief that consumers are ready to experience true high-definition gaming

The arrogance is what i hate most about Sony. The undeserved smug sense of self-satisfaction. Nintendo are the only company who EVER did anything revolutionary to the console industry. Sony seem to be competing with the ex-Iraq information minister with the amount of complete bull**** they spout

What about Microsoft? first HD gaming console, first true online system with unified friends list, xbox market place. I agree that Nintendo have been consistantly revoltutionary but MS are as well. Its just Sony that seem to be ripping off everyone else ideas.
