Hi All,

I have a Sony CMT-SPZ90DB and this is the speaker wire;

Is there a cable which you can use to extend the length of the speaker wire as these aren't you're standard RCA connections?

Cheers

Are they these ones?

Longest preterminated cables seem to be 5 metres.

If you need longer than that, then you will need to splice in some extra wire, and either solder or crimp connector the cables (* disclaimer - this isn't an Audiophile solution, but honestly shouldn't make a great deal of difference, in an otherwise impossible situation).

Connectors look different. Can't see any cables with those type of connectors, just the ones linked above.

I think you may have to splice in a length of cable, if there are connectors on both ends, or just add a length if they are bare at one end.

It annoys me where I see companies like Sony doing this; one type of connector on one product and another type on a different product. It's just speaker cable FFS! Just use one type of connector. :mad:

Cut the cable and solder an extension piece in there. I'd only do one wire at a time (or very clearly label which is which) to keep the correct polarity of the speaker.
