sony vaio, amd or i3?

Hey, I'm looking to buy a sony laptop and I've found one I like with pretty much identical specs, apart from one has an AMD Vision dual core processor 2.2 GHz and the other has an Intel® Core™ i3-370M Processor.

The amd version is nearly £100 cheaper, I was wondering if someone could tell me if the i3 is worth the extra?

Go to the above linky, in the restrictions table near the top you could restrict it to show just mobile processors and tick the two different processors you mention.

When I did it, the i3 370m was the 46th fastest processor and the only AMD processor i could find @ 2.2GHz was the Turion II which was 177th - 179th so the i3 370m is highly likely to be better. I think it is worth the extra as the benchies show the i3 as twice as fast as the AMD.

HOWEVER, your AMD name info was missing so I could only work on it being dual core and 2.2GHz. I could be wrong?

Best you take a look and see if you can remember the name ie Turion/Athlon64 X2 etc.and try yourself..

i3. Proven platform, quick and efficient.

I think it's the AMD P340 processor.
