Sony Vaio FW11E RAM Question

After some positive feedback on this forum, I have purchased a Sony Vaio FW11E laptop which has an Intel 8400 CPU (2.26GHz).

I was reading on another forum about some Santa Rosa laptops being capable of using 8GB Ram and I was wondering if anyone could advise whether the FW11E could access that amount of Ram?

If you had 64bit Vista installed and you can get 4GB sodimms then I don't why not.

According to Sony's site, the max amount of RAM available to install is 4GB (2GB in each slot).

Oh well. Don't take any notice of me, I should've checked the Sony website myself seeing as I've just got a FW11S.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the responses so far, however I have seen someone on a blog get 8GB working on a Macbook Pro and Apple say the Max is 4GB, also the same blogger got 8GB working in a Dell Latitude D630 and D830 I know this obviously doesn't mean all other laptops run 8GB but there are some that do (while the manufacturers say otherwise).

Obviously I cant say where I got it from but it was price match so got it for just under £920.
