Sony Vaio PCG-GRT816S usb question

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but I have the above laptop here which I got given so can't complain! But 2 of the 3 USB ports are broken - looks like someone has tried to jam something into them both! The 3rd one is working, but when the cable is inserted, it is quite loose so it can lose connection and can be a pain!

Would it be possible to open the laptop up and change the ports for new ones? Would it be an easy job (simple soldering job or whatnot?)

Any help would be appreciated

The USB ports are probably on a board which would be fairly easy to fit if you can find a replacement.
Or someone like http://www.techno-mart.co.uk/ might help at a reasonable cost

Thanks mate, would I just be able to pull the ports off a pc motherboard or would they need to be specific?

Do you think I should just stick a USB PCMCIA card in and use that instead? (even though I would rather not)

Has anyone ever attempted this before?
