Sony Vaio Problem

Was just trying something in Backtrack, then my laptop just shutdown and will not power back on even if i remove the battery and/or power lead and then reapply power? any ideas?

Any charging lights at all, try checking the adapter with a multimeter, sounds like it might have over heated but they will usually switch on after a few minutes.

While the battery is out and it is unplugged press the power button a few times to clear any residual charge, then try again.

seems i ran it completely dead in backtrack and it then needed a few moments to charge the battery to a state where it would say it is charging. You know like a mobile if you completely drain it and then try to charge it sometimes takes a moment to decide that its charging thanks for the help anyway. Quite a reasonable laptop got it for nothing and its a ok specification thanks again guys
