Hi all

Wondered whether anyone would have any advice on whether there is a way to disable the touch pad on a Sony Vaio? It seems to have happened to mine accidentally. The mouse still works. I've had a look in the control panel to no avail. Any help would be most appreciated.

First result on google? I assume it is going to be something similar for you unless it is a hardware fault. Is there not a quick enable / disable fn F1-F12 toggle?

Have you made any software changes recently?

Thanks for this. I went through all the settings though and it is enabled. Very odd. Feel stupid using my mouse on the arm rest of the sofa.

Thanks for looking into this for me though- most appreciated

Allow me to repeat:

Just check the touchpad settings in windows, I assume its nothing more fancy thann a synaptics device

Go into the mouse settings though control panel, there will be an option to "disable trackpad when external mouse is detected" or similar
