Sony have just introduced a configurable option on there sonystyle website, where you can build your spec.

I just wanted to know if anyone has this notebook or any experience with it?

I've always loved the way the sony vaio's looked compared to other laptops but their just so expensive :( lol

I guess with the release of these new TT models, the older TZ series should drop in price?

Yeah, I'd imagine so. The TZ is a stunning piece of kit, I actually think it looks better then the Vaio TT's but the spec is just not that fast. Then again the TT spec isn't exactly speedy and if you want blue ray and 128gb SSD then your looking at paying out around £3000. Now some might say that is slightly taking the mickey, still if you got the money, why not eh.

yeah, well not forgettin they are designed to be ultra portable, its just a shame they had to cut the spec's down so much :(

Pretty disappointing from sony really, several manufacturers have competing products which are either lighter (Toshiba R600) or have bigger screens (Lenovo X300, Macbook Air) or are faster and every last one of them is cheaper. Style over substance in my opinion, and it's not even that nice looking, sony laptops have become a bit predictable in the last few years...

I've come to realise that basically ALL Sony Vaio's are style over substance.
However, what they do with the style aspect is very good imo.

Thats what is holding me back from buying the TT is it's spec, i mean i know its small but the lenevo thinkpad x200 is equally as small and lots more powerful. I starting to sway towards the Vaio Z its slightly bigger and slightly less stylish then the TT but its a hell of a lot better performance wise.

Sony's always look awesome with the designs... but spec wise it seems pretty disappointing to me, for all the other laptops in its range are always so much higher spec'd.

azza, it all depends on what you want from the system. If you don't NEED it to be a powerhouse, then don't worry about it.
For example, this lappy I'm using has a Pentium M 1.86GHz, and does me fine for pretty much everything (including games). However, seeing as I will require a faster system, I will be buying a new laptop with substance over style in mind.

Besides, if you want, you can always upgrade the components. The processor and RAM shouldn't be too hard to switch over, and might even save you a bit of money over the TT
