Anyone used Vegas before, im trying to edit the audo track on the video and add a sound track but want some elements of the audio from the video. In pinnacle 14 you can set the volume of the video and adjust quite accurately, do i need a third party plugin or is there a way to edit the audio track so that only the parts i want to hear are audible. I also want to dampen the sound track so the audio track can be heard better.

Here is an example, i want the ingame audio to be heard better.

I just use splits on the selection of audio from the music and lower the db of it, you can just grab the audio timeline at the top and drag it towards the middle of its timeline to reduce the gain.

Basically what I mean is that on the sections you want louder or the music lower then make splits at the points you want and modify the audio accordingly. Probably a good idea to use small fades between the splits so it sounds better.

Thanks for the help, i think i have it sorted now.

Another question, i want to put a string of text ontop of the video for a period of time, as you can see from the vid below, the URL i want over about 10 seconds of video, i have used media events, but i would like it there contuniously.

Is there a way to do this?

Create a separate timeline with a text media event and put it at the top (ie highest of your whole timeline segments) so that it remains on top of all other video segments you use.
Its best in general to separate your creations into different segments, much like Photoshop where you use layers.
