Hello people

I am thinking about buying the Sony VGN-FW11ZU , any feedback on this model or any review`s you have seen

I am using Sony VGN-FW11ZU at the moment , so far so good , great keyboard layout

Looks like a very sweet laptop! I'm looking to get this or maybe a lesser model for about £750.
Heard many good things about it!

I can only say having had two Sony's previously that I'd never touch them again, not too fast, not brilliantly built was my experience and I know too many friends who've had problems with them.

You'll get better quality from other big brands and style wise sony aren't as stand out as they once were...

I guess i would agree , you pay for the name , might keep my Dell 1720 2.2 , the sony is nice looking but not that fast being 2.5

He said not that fast. It's not likely you'll notice a difference from 2.2 to 2.5 lets face it...

I've also found Sony laptops to be far slower than they should be for their spec, I suspect it's the rubbish they install on them (though they're all guilty of that on consumer laptops) but it's deeply annoying.

Damn well I was pretty much sold on the FW11E model which is £750 delivered.

Guess I will have to think on it but from what I've heard before was that its a sweet laptop.

Gosh i am finding Sony VGN-FW11ZU very slowwwwwwww some of the software you would not use on the damm thing anyway so i un installed , very disappointed

It is because of the (4200RPM) HD :eek:

My Dell 2.2 is so much faster

So the hard drive is making it slow or the software?

I think ideally you wanna do a fresh install or use some cleaning software to get rid of all the trash.

ill tell you how slow my fw11s is when it arrives (thursday). for the price, it was very good

Done a full a fresh install on Sony VGN-FW11ZU and got rid of the software that i would not use , still slowwwwwww , i gonna stick with my Dell

My Dell 1720 is some much faster , very odd

well ive had mine for a week or so, and it's a fantastic bit of kit. very little in the way of slowdown - snappy enough to replace my 3.1ghz c2d pc without worries. it isnt as fast as my desktop with things involving heavy hdd access obviously, but i dare say it seems more consistant if anything.

Its built well, quiet, and everything just works on it. even more suprisingly, the software they bundle with it is suprisingly unobtrusive. its certainly nothing like the experiance footballmad1973 had with his ZU
