Sony Viao VGN-NR10E ? Card Reader Issue

A friends laptop HDD died, gave her my spare HDD and the card reader won't read the SD card shes putting in. She's using win7 64bit

I've tried the drivers on the site but there is nothing specific to the multireader under the download section. So I've tried the "update" on there.

Each time I type in the model "VGN-NR10" the site corrects me to: VGN-NR10E/S but she says there is no S on the end. Unsure if this is relevant. The other "VGN-NR10" is the "M/S" when I type just "VGN-NR10" in and it gives me two options.. I havnt tried any of those drivers.

Checked the device manager, uninstalled the reader and reinstalled it but that didn't work. I can't for the life of me find a working driver package.

Not quite sure why its not picking up the SD card when its plugged in. Shes tried another one aswell, the cards definitely work.

Any suggestions?
 
Hmm, how on earth do I find out what make of reader is in there without taking it apart as at the moment it only shows up as "Mass Storage". If I could get that maybe I could find a driver?
 
Great looks like what I need but running the "Memory Card Reader Writer Driver" application briefly makes the mouse icon look like its working but then nothing, no extra processes, nothing. Even running in compatibility mode for vista is the same.

Not quite sure which of the list it would be in the device manager as nothing has a yellow ! next to it.

Thoughts? Maybe I've disconnected it by accident is the only thing I can think of.
