SONY VTX-D800U freeview box

I will be getting a tv aerial upgrade for freeview this week but what i would like to know is that can the above freeview box be connected to a mini mac easily ?

The freeview box only outputs via scart, are you able to connect this to a mini mac?

I might just scrap the mini mac idea i had in mind and build a SFF MCE PC for home recording from that sony freeview box.

Hopefully i can connect it upto a decent card in the PC.

have you looked at the Elgato devices at all? they have a digital terrestrial box with firewire connection.

Or just use a DTT PCI card?

I looked at all options for the mini mac but it became to expensive for what i wanted to do.

Well if you build a PC instead of a mac then just use: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/TV_Cards.html

You can then use the PC as a PVR etc...
