how can i backup the complete phone?

I'm having the phone replaced tomorrow by O2 as mine is one of the handsets with this annoying light problem.

Need to get it backed up quick and can't be bothered with inputting all my contacts again.

Does the software it comes with do this?

What do you mean 'complete phone'? Are we talking contacts, phone mem and memory stick or just contacts?

i want to backup all the pictures/sounds/films etc (which i think i've found from looking through the memory card) but i also NEED to backup all my contacts.

is there an easy way of doing it?

Transferring them to the sim card truncates them all and it's easier to re-enter them

You can back everything up on your MS card if you wanted to or otherwise use the bundled software to back the phone up etc.

The flashing light problem can be solved by yourself if you fancy de-branding the phone via the da vinci method ie buy credit then flash the phone using their software. I did that with my tmobile phone and the flashing light problem disappeared.

But if im not mistaken SE have released a new firmware, you can update it via your phone and it will check then tell you if u need to update it. You do need gprs/web access in order to do over the air updates.

I fixed my flashing light problem by debranding my phone as well... like Spawn said you can back up your contacts to the Mem Stick:

Go into Contacts>Options>Advanced>Back up to M.S.

You can then follow the same procedure to restore from Mem Stick - this is how I backed my contacts up before I flashed my phone :D

just what i needed to know...thanks.

another option would be to download my phone explorer for SE phones and back up all your contacts and settings to your computer via the usb cable, and then you can restore when you get your phone back.
