Sony WF-1000XMK3 with Galaxy s20 ultra

After upgrading my Samsung buds+ to the Sony WF-1000XMK3 i think i have either done something wrong or the feature is simply just not there.
The phone i am using is a Samsung galaxy s20 ultra.

On my Samsung buds+ when my phone got a txt message or an email or whats app message or facebook messenger message. i would get the spoken information through to my Samsung buds+. it would say something like" email from work" or "txt message of work" ect ect. now i do not get anything is this correct ?.

And btw the sound is night and day going from the samsung buds and samsung buds+. but i have to ask why the tiny usb c cable.

I think the spoken info is part of the Buds App

I sent my Sony WF-1000xMK3's back to Amazon, they sounded better than my Buds the ANC just didn't work for me ears

@DataVampire You'll probably have a better response if you posted in the Mobile Phones & Tablets section for mobile phone accessory advice.
This section is generally PC Audio and/or HiFi orientated.

That said, @mrgubby is probably spot on with the Buds App.
