I have a feeling I know whats causing this but I'm inclined to think that it 'should' work.
I built the above HTPC and the motherboard states that it will do 4k res over HDMI, obviously its a 4k tv but the AV receiver is not, its HDMI 1.4 but it was my understanding that 1.4 could handle 4k @ 30hz but it doesnt matter how low I set the HZ when I push the PC to the TV's native resolution the screen flickers and goes like a gfx card would when it gets too hot, also the image doesnt quite fit the screen. The PC does allow me to set the 4k res however has recommended written next to 1920 x 1080.
Ultimately I could do some testing, plug PC direct into TV etc but does anyone have any advice or thoughts?
I will upgrade my AV receiver if need be along with all the cables, the PC is the only thing that will run at 4K 60hz though.

- 8 GB RAM
- Pioneer 322-k AV Receiver
