Hi all. I have just bought a Sony XF-90 tv and I am very happy with it. The tv says that only 2 of the 4 hdmi ports can do full 4k HDR and these ports are HDMI 2 and HDMI 3. I have my soundbar connected to HDMI 3 as this one says arc on it and my PS4 pro connected to HDMI 2.

For my 4k blu ray player will it still work to its full potential on HDMI 1 or HDMI 4? Or to ask a different question, would my soundbar still work as it should if I didn't plug that into the HDMI arc port?

Thanks :)

Are you sure your ARC port is also 4K? That's unusual as ARC and 4K UHD don't normally live together.

Im pretty sure that in the Sony settings on the TV when I turned something on to make the hdmi ports full speed it says ports 2 and 3 are full speed. On the back of the TV it says hdmi arc is port 3.

Yes - same was as it was on the XE models.
Why wouldn't you want 4k & ARC on the same port?
Port 3 for ARC/4k, Port 2 for 4k alone.
Personally I only use HDMI 3 which goes to my Yamaha Receiver and then everything else just plugs into that, saves a lot of messing about.

It's an LG soundbar I have. I don't think it's 4k ready though. I got it 3 years ago for £200 when I bought a £450 LG 4k tv. It does have hdmi in and hdmi out ports on it though.
