Sony Xperia Play

hey guys, just got my first android phone and it is a Sony Xperia Play and a 32gb class 10 memory card.

I am a little overwhelmed by the number of apps available, so was wondering are there any essential apps for the PLAY that you recommend?

I have checked out the awesome android apps thread but was looking for xperia play optimised stuff to make use of the thumb sticks and d pad etc

PS. Great little phone, can't believe I have been using an n95 for so long!

hmm looks like no ones replied to this thread yet, I've had mine since mid january just days before the 5 free ea games(fifa 12, dead space, nfs shift, nfs hot pursuit & bfbc2) ended.

as far as I've seen there is only 1 non-game app that makes use of any of he extra controls on the xperia play, its the camera mod for xperia play and even that only makes use of the shoulder buttons(L & R) not the 'pull down' controls(d-pad/thumb pads/etc.

the best bet is to go to search in the android market and type "xperia play optimized".

if you like racing games and not done so yet you can get asphalt 6 free from gameloft, open the xperia play app and look under more games. or you can also get it free through the getjar app(this is the android market version).

upto now I've used the supplied 8gb class 2 memory card but have now got a sandisk 32gb class 4 card for £18, was looking at the class 6/10 but they're £10+, now to work out what the best method of transferring the data from old card(8gb) to the new card(32gb).

I haven't used the phone as a phone upto now as been using my htc desire, been meaning to use the 16gb card from the desire in the xperia play once I'd swapped the data between the 2 cards but been putting it off and ended up ordering the 32gb last week.
