**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Well the Z3c has a trade-off too, it's much thicker! It's even thicker than the Note 3.

I'll post up screen comparison photos and thoughts tonight.

Trade off with the Z3C and the only reason I didn't get it is that its only a 720p screen instead of a 1080p one.

The size is beginning to get surprisingly comfortable - my S4 seems tiny in comparison. I like they've kept the uniformity of the device - sold with this 'omnibalance' thing they keep banging on about :)

So - four issues I've come across so far:

1)- No way of getting access to the flashlight easily (prob need a third party proggie)
2)- No 'program monitor' like on sammy devices - found that handy (again third party app prob sort that)
3)- NZB Air widget keeps taking up two lines of space instead one restricting how many additional icons I can have on that same page (prob need fix from them)
4)- It's a dust and finger print magnet! - The price I'm happily paying for its smexiness :)

Compared it to my mates Nexus 5 - its actually not that much bigger at all! - only ever so slightly taller (about half a centimetre) yet thinner.

Screen wise - I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the screen - I can't tell the difference between my S4's AMOLED display other than the Z3's doesn't blur in the menu's like the S4 used to.

Oh and I do miss not having an IR Blaster to be able to turn the telly down in the back room but heyho - me other telly has an app for it so its all good :>

1: Add the flashlight quick toggle in the pull down :p
2: Under power management area you can view apps that have used a lot of processor/battery time. My phone is off right now but I noticed it earlier.

Viewing angles are really wide on this. I know it's IPS and I expected excellent viewing angles but it's exceeded what I was expecting.

yup agree with you about the viewing angles - makes watching youtube a lot easier with others.

Do you know how I can get the google bar (it was at the top) back please? I removed it thinking it would free up space at the top but it just left me with them silly home screen dots at the top lol

Pinch in to add the Google Search widget back? I use Nova Launcher so don't know the ins and outs of the Sony Timescale Launcher.

nah b - its said something about going into settings and enabling something as it replaces something just outside of the main launcher area (unfortunately I didnt take note lol)

Why do you want a hardware home button?

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I'm not fussed about a hardware home button, I'm only fussed about:

the empty space underneath the soft buttons.

If the soft buttons were near the bottom of the phone chassis (in fact in the same solar system would be nice :p) then I wouldn't care. It's just the 00s gap that erks me.

Just look at the difference in usable screen space:

Not really, it's pretty much the same size as the 5s

...which is huge...

I actually like the extra space on both sides. It means I can hold the phone in landscape without accidently pressing a button or covering the screen - makes typing a lot easier in landscape mode too

please can someone confirm that this definitely uses a nano sim?

also i don't really know much about sd cards does anyone have any recommendations?

It's a pretty dumb image, ofcourse a larger phone like a note can have smaller bezels, because they are so large they have more space to fit in the internals. Who would post an image comparing a Note to a Z3 anyway?

@Ade74 definitely a nano sim.
