Sony XR55A80JU Bravia, 55 inch

No need to take a chance on it my man - I have it, and it's a really nice TV. I've been delighted with it (had it about a year).

Good resampling of HD content, top notch display, nice thin bezel, lots of config options,
understands HDR colour profiles from different formats, 120Hz variable refresh.

Its default sound output is great as well, I got rid of my sound bar/woofer because the TV sounded so much better.
 
We have the XR55A80JU and it was a great TV before it developed a red pixel and white stripe across the length of the panel last week, at just 11 months old. Sony have agreed to replace it, but the disappointing part is their replacement policy is that they will provide replacement with a with a factory certified as new TV (refurbished), which is slightly annoying considering this wasn't a cheap TV in the first place.

As I said was a great TV.. but hopefully you will be luckier.
