Was playing the 360 version last night, while fun they really seem to have castrated some of the gamplay mechanics. Mainly in the sense that the carriers are completly static and there are no destroyers or subs etc.

Can't help but feel that really nerfs the gameplay on some maps, shelling the islands with destroyers was lots of fun as were the subs on a few of the maps. Theres some new gimmcks in the game with lots of buildings being destroyable but some really weird oversights like pistols being incredibly accurate over long distances (think the pistol in the original halo which doubled as a sniper rifle). If you spot an enemy a marker appears over them which you can see over a long range, no real hiding in this game at all...

I know its a budget game and theyre supposodly making the pc version play more like a pc game, but i don't see much point in the game if tanks planes and jeeps are the only vehicles in the game. It will essentially be like playing a castrated "prettier" version of 1942.

On the plus side it doesn't seem to have a prone option, whicjh should alleviate the crap that plagued bf2 from launch.
