Sooooooooo....BFBC2 mouse lag

My mate came over today and had a go on BFBC2 for the first time. He keeps complaining, saying what's wrong with the mouse, nothing I tell him. Nope, he insists there is a problem, I say no there isn't, i've been playing it like that for ages.

I pop out for a bit, leave him playing, I come back he says try playing now and my mouse is now silky smooth, have been online and my gameplay has increased dramatically. He basically googled BFBC2 mouse lag and followed a guide to fix it.

Turns out i'm level 26, 179 hours played and have had mouse lag all along, no wonder I was so rubbish

a lot of games have "smooth mouse" features in which makes it feel like when you move the mouse and stop.. it doesnt stop instantly but waits a milisecond.. its very noticeable especially in twitch shooters like counterstrike but you even get it in mmos

I figure maybe a few others are having the same problem but don't even know it, I didn't realise, just thought it was my mouse/system/game...just put up with it and did my best!

I've been playing BFBC2 sub standard for so long I just thought that older age (32) was starting to affect my gaming

Yeah I definately havnt made those changes but I'm gunna.. got quite used to the old style so lets see!

I thought they allowed turning if smoothing for infantry ages ago.

I tried the settings in the link a while back and just couldn't get the sensitivity right at all. Turrets were stupid fast too. I had to put them back as I couldn't get the hang of it.

There is a clear difference between the smoothing effect on turrets and infantry in my setup.

I find the turrets to be pretty much ok, but then im using 5000 dpi setting on my mouse, (logitech G500) took a while getting used to the high setting but im pretty comfortable with it now.

Can anyone help me out, I did the changes to fix my mouse lag as in the OP, however now when i'm in a tank, on a turret or similar, I cannot move up and down. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Did that, as soon as I make the changes to fix the mouse lag, I lose the ability to move turrets up and down, I just don't understand why

I modded these files a while ago. Had a look and all the fields are as stated. Did you complete the "land.dbx" steps as they control turrets?

On a side note FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU EA. "Cannot connect to EA" for no apparent reason again No way I am going to pre order BF3, I'll wait a month or two until it's playable ffs

IIRC it was a couple of weeks from when I bought BFBC2 retail on launch until I could reliably play online

Game isnt the best port mate. Even with the acceleration fix movement still doesnt feel up to pc standard. BF3 should be a lot better.
