im making some CDs of soppy love songs for the car, i have these so far:

edit: I'll proffer Elton John - Tiny Dancer. Dunno if it's your traditional love song but it was played at a friends wedding and seemed very fitting.

He wrote that when he was feeling down from his break down of his marriage, about how he missed her, it was in that island which destroyed by the volcano. It's basically a sad song about love falling apart and people play it at weddings !
