I know his in the garbage business and in season two you see grabage & sanatation trucks.

And at the start of season 3 theres talk of a grabage war breaking out.


But just how does he get money from picking up pepoples rubbish bins?
 
in the US, waste management is not run by a local council as it is in the UK. so the public and businesses pay private companies like tony's to collect and dispose of their garbage.

Tony's just on the payroll.

It causes some problems later on when the owner dies and his son takes over.

His garbage or ' waste management ' company is a front for his activities within the mafia so money made from other stuff such as extortion, protection and hijacks etc can be laundered through the company.

As a seemingly legitimate front for his money, Tony does not want heat from the FBI on his business so he avoids drugs being sold on the rounds, that is why he fell out with Richie Aprille as he was selling and attracting heat.

He may not make a lot of money from that side, but other activities make the real money.

Also in season 5 did Chris know Adreana got killed?
