SORNd a car, refund is wrong?

I taxed a car for 6 months, back in may (tax would expire 30 November)

Cost for 6 months was £126.50

sent of tax disc on the 30th september

refund received = £38.33

no idea how they came to that figure

1 month = £21
2 months = £42

any ideas?

£38.33 is 2 months refund based on a 12 month disc

Something doesn't add up as you'd only get one month back.

Edit: 30th October or September? (as 30th Oct isn't here yet)

If it was 30th Sept then you'll get the 2 months, but you're only refunded based on the 12 month value, not the 6 month one.

No, he'd get 2 months back because it was posted on the 30th September (unless he has a time machine thats a typo) therefore he has been credited back October and November.

Therefore the refund amount is entirely correct.
