Hi

Sorry for another thread but I think my requirements are different to others.

I am replacing my Alienware M17x R4, has i7, 16Gb DDR3, GTX680M 4gb, 256Gb 830 Pro.

This time would prefer something smaller and lighter so 15" probably but a thin light 17" would be OK.

Must be able to play latest games at decent FPS, also I would like to be able to plug in 3 monitors for surround gaming 5760x1080 although this is not a must.

Alienware have a external GFX accelerator you can put a GFX card in to and plug in to your laptop for desktop gaming perforomance so I guess that is an option.

Budget is £1500 ish.

Thanks in advance.

This should be smaller/lighter than your Alienware. Probably the best you're going to get for £1500.

If you really want 15" then this is looking like a good deal at the moment:

Thanks

The MSI says it supports 3 external screens but will it allow gaming at 5760x1080?

Looked at the gigabyte and the spec is excellent for the price, not sure it looks as good as MSI though :) and it has one of them old school vga ports :)

Thanks

Hi Voicon,

The chassis on the Gigabyte is just 20.9mm, so if you are looking for a genuinely portable machine, the P35 or P37 models are all worth consideration.

Obviously styling is down to individual taste, but the Gigabyte design being understated is why a lot of customers choose to purchase our products.

We also offer the ability for you to add more ram, add ssds without voiding warranty and the P35 and P37 both have a hot-swappable optical drive which you can add a further storage solution of your choice.

On the subject of the 2 machines you are considering, its also worth noting that the Gigabyte machine has 8GB vRAM,,,, double that of the competitors spec.

Hope that helps a bit,,,

Also, worth considering is the AORUS X7 - again this is on offer and brings it into budget...

Very strong spec for the money and the GPU performance is actually still well up there with the 9 series top range cards.

Decisions, decisions !

Yes, that one has the surround ports as well, although I was thinking of going 4k monitor instead of the 3 x 1080p I have now.

This is hard work!
