Merry Christmas all,

I am currently looking at upgrading my current system. BF3 is running like a dog and I think it is mostly down to my CPU.

I have decided on a few parts:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
Case: Corsair Obsidian 550D (I just love the looks of this case, shame it isn't the best at cooling)

So I am looking for:

Motherboard Z77: £80-120: nothing hardcore I might overclock the i5 to just over 4GHz nothing extreme :p
RAM: £40-60 (16GB possible at this price?)
PSU: £60-80 (maybe a Corsair?)
CPU cooler (£40 air cooling?)
Case Fans?
SSD: Samsung 840 pro 120GB?

I am looking to keep my system quiet but I want to make sure nothing gets too warm in the summer as well. I will be using my ATI 5850 for the time being as I want to see how far I can push it with an i5.
 
There is a cheaper Samsung SSD but its out of stock at the moment.

The system will mainly be for Gaming with a little photo editing.

Would the best 2x8GB ram set me the GeIL Black Dragon 16GB (2x8GB)?

From looking at the performance and price difference between the Samsung 840 pro and 830, the 830 seems to win a due to it's price tag for me. Good shout guys :)

At the end of the day a motherboard doesn't offer much difference in a games FPS. Any reason I should go for the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H over the Gigabyte Z77-D3H apart from it looks a lot nicer ;)

I think it might be worth replacing / buying a few extra fans for the Corsair Obsidian 550D would I be right in saying that I need 3 120mm fans?

The XFX power supply seems to be the PSU of choice lately, are they as good as the current Corsair range?

And finally the motherboard should I be going for the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 or Gigabyte Z77X-D3H they are about the same price which would be easier to overclock on?

gigabayte.. no need for 16gb ram for gaming
