Just a quick question for the S2000 owners or anyone who knows the answer really.

Does the speedo/rev counter have a dimmer function on it? If so how is it operated?

Got a little project on the go and just wanna see if i need to add extra wiring.

there's two buttons on the dash to adjust brightness. Also when you turn the lights on you can hold one of them and the auto dimmer is cancelled.

It's not hard, just tricky.

1992 Honda Prelude with a S2000 Dash

You not seen the converter that Mark Lamond has been working on then ? Talk about genius

Yeah I have, that's where this idea has come from.

I'm just trying to work out what needs to be done to get it to work, All i need at the mo is the rev counter, speedo, indicator lights and full beam light to work.

I've emailed him but yet to have a reply.

The prelude has all the correct sensors, but finding any details is a bit tricky.

Easy then hey ? ;) I'd say the speedo and revs were hardly 'all that needs doing' Surely they are the most important. The fuel guage is even harder apparently.

Oh, he hates people just emailing him and expecting him to tell them all the hard work he's put into it so I wouldn't expect a reply

Fuel and temp aren't needed they are separate on a Prelude, so are all the warning lights. The cluster i'm replacing is just the speedo and rev counter.

All i've asked Mark for is a pin out diagram for the S2000 cluster, it's not on his site yet.

Fair enough, should be a lot easier then :)

would look cool, the s2 at least did have a nice dashboard, do you still get to keep the preludes cool looking fuel and temp gauges? always liked them (greeny bluey jobbies in the middle of the dashboard)

Yes, they will still be there.

It's only the prefacelift rev counter and speedo that are going.

It's next to the oil slick and turbo boost buttons.

I've always liked the s2k dash but that pic makes it look 10 times better, still want one but can't have one yet :(

Cheers Mark, How's the Tubby going?

I got a reply from Mark Lamond, think i'm gonna send the cluster off to him to get sorted, I think the problem is most people don't release that the 4th Gen prelude has a seaparte dash for all the important stuff, it's not like replacing a single dash in a car.

going good thanks.. have done a few mods and things. Gets a bit scary in this weather though. Not looking forward to the colder months as its my every day car now
