Athlon 64 X2 6000+ with the stock cooler seems to be idleing at 46. Does this seem about right not sure how hot these chips run.

Forgot to add aswell its on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe. Ive heard Asus temp monitoring is rubbish aswell.
 
have you enabled cool and quiet and set power savings to minimal in windows.

If you haven't try them :)

Will do mate. Never been a fan of cool and quiet though tbh. Do these temps seem about right for a 6000?
 
I have that CPU and a Asus Crosshair, it idles at 30C (not OC'd) in warmish room with a Noctua NH-U12F, fitted with a TT SilentCat 120mm fan at 50% controled by mobo going by temps.

Overclocked upto 3.4GiG at about 4C onto idle and at load fan speeds up anyhow.

If you are on the stock cooler thats your cause, even a Artic Freezer 90m is better.
