I have recently got a new rig myself, but my housemate is going to take my old rig (it is dated!) and make a few upgrades.

Will be playing Battlefield 4 mainly, so anything that may achieve medium/high specs would be good.

Need a GPU, CPU, motherboard, ram and hard drive, so if any of you kind souls could suggest something that could go together for around £300/£400 that'd be grand :)

Currently sitting on 450w cooler master PSU, so can consider an upgrade there too if necessary. Will be looking to put a fresh install of Win 8 on the hard drive bur got that covered.

No peripherals necessary.

Cheers for the help!

It will power the system but isn't a good brand of PSU. I'd always advise upgrading to something of a higher quality, especially where power supplies are concerned. A bad one can kill other components. If you can afford one go for something from Antec, Seasonic or Superflower.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Seasonic S12II 520W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £59.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 450W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £53.99
1 x Antec VP450P 450W '80 Plus' Continuous Power Supply £41.99
Total : £165.56 (includes shipping : £8.00).

It's made by FSP, which are a decent OEM. I'd rather have either the Superflower or Seasonic, but then the price reflects that.

It only has 1x6pin pci-e connector for starters, and it can only produce 360W. I would say it is more suited to an office based pc.

The PCI-E issue is not a problem as most GPUs either come with an adapter or one can be bought for next to nothing. And your statement of it producing 360w is tosh I'm afraid. The unit is easily capable of delivering its stated wattage.
